Old friend with "new" Cyclone running gear... stopping counting the miles after 30,000 km and that was over 10,000 km ago.

I feel like this is finished enough to post, now. Still need to dig up a black/black Arione somewhere and get a 7-speed freewheel.

sweet
It just needs to be moved forward a tad, maybe lose one spacer in the stack as well.
New saddle and different cranks for my Stout:
I'm starting to think about some honey bar tape, too.
shellac it
pretty sure hes talking about the white cork
fyi it was an oldschool practice to shellace cloth handlebar tape. keeps it on better, more water proof, and looks cool because the shellac will give the tape a darker, caramel-ish color tone. i did it to red cloth tape and it turned a nice burgundy maroon. tends to look nice with older or older style bikes with brooks saddles.
i believe some people also shellac cork tape. i did it to some cork tape i had, and it got kinda crackly and not so good looking...although it could have been cuz it was maybe not actual cork tape but synthetic cork and perhaps the two react different with shellac

you probably didnt apply enough coats. many thin coats works pretty well
I talk about shellac too much
my wife shellacked her white cork tape and it = honey brown
Pretty sure the white stuff is synthetic (Ritchey branded, not nearly as good as Cinelli). I will hold out for the Brooks bar tape.
