I'm new here and new to the cycling world in general but there's one thing I've been interested in, bypassing the speed limiter on an E Bike. Don't get me wrong I know if this where done it would be illegal but how fast could a cyclist go if it was done? and can it be done say in a garage?
I think the only bike to have a speed limiter is a Bionx and maybe the Trek ones. If you are talking about the Bionx, I think there is a special code that you can enter to disable the speed limiter. It's on youtube. Itselectric.ca /power-in-motion did the video. If you want the code, you could probably e-mail itselectric.ca and they'll probably give it to you or look it up on google.

However, it doesn't really add anything to the top end speed. It does get rid of that annoying, on/off pulsing you get at about 20 mph., though.

i noticed i get that when the battery is really low, my battery seems to be at its lifes end.
The thing is... Its about the volts... I saw a scooter that ran on 70 volts, went 50 MPH<... don't have the $ for it and know my bike can go 3 times faster, just don't know how yet REALLY NEED YOUR GUYS HELP!!!
... trying to find out if and how much i can add to the current motor controller, by adding power in series to the battery that is in my scooter now...
Has anyone here added power to the 'H grgoire Ebike? its a (by default) 20 MPH 48V , and the thing is, the spedometer says it can go to 60 ...) Its shipped with underpowered batteries and a low motor controller, its just that im wondering if this is actually possible, or is it only ppossible to bring this kind of hub motor up to that speed... the motor on the bike i saw was different, but why does my speedometer say can go to 60? Ive seen many times that people can bring it up to 723 V, but not sure if i have to change the motor controller... for now, i just want to add or compensate for lack of power ....
- Obviously, when the battery is not churning out as many volts, it will cause your bike to be underpowered. - a way to compensate for that i want is to add a set of 2 batteries: - one will be fired up with a second throttle , a kind of turbo... and then it will then make up for and more... the lack of energy, will make u go fast,er , but i need to find out if this is possible, to make sure i don't fry the controller, i think i can add perhaps 12 more volts?
...would be cool cause i will have a solar panel charging the battery after it dies, then the other battery will take over,, then when that battery dies, the first battery will be charged, and then take over, and the cycle shall repeat... endless riding until the sun don't shine ( well will have to add solar panels for the main battery as well, but i find that the lack of efficiency allows me to ride just below full throttle for a long time as if the battery was new ... without getting the spurts, the bumpy feeling, that weird vibrating, pulsating as you described, ... if only i could just inject a few more extra volts that it nedds... hoe can i do this??? PLEASE NEED AS MUCH HELP ON THIS ASAP< my partner is coming soon, want to take her around ...

my bike runs 83v at 50amps and tops out at 73kph thats more than 4000 watts...6+hp
get a better controller
dudemanaroo, I couldn't find much about your scooter. If it has a hub motor, you could probably disconnect the controller and buy another controller and either put in some lithium batteries or buy some extra SLA batteries and make it faster. You need to find out what kind of hub motor it is, though because if it's brushed then you'll need a brushed controller and there are brushless motors with 120 degree hall sensors on them and you'll need that kind of controller. These days I think most motors are brushless with 120 degree hall sensors. You need to find out where the controller is located and take it out and put a new one in if it does have a hub motor. It's a chain driven motor then I don't know much about those.
If it does have a hub motor, I'd get a 36 - 72v controller and that way you can put any voltage up to 72v on it. That's the kind that I have. It'll cost you about $130, though. You might be able to find a controller on a scooter website for cheaper, though but if you want to go really fast, you'll need a 60 - 72v one. You'll need probably around 2000w of power to go a lot faster. A lot of the scooter controllers are rated for their power so you'll see them say something like 48v 1000w controller.
To make the scooter really awesome, you'll probably need some NICD, NIMH, or lithium batteries, though.
Best thing to do is follow the wires from the motor and follow the wire along and then you'll probably see where the controller is at. You might have to take some panels off of it.

Does anybody know how to get rid of the restriction of max speed of 25 km/hr on a ride+ pro controller of a TREK e-bike?
I ride a Pedego with the 15ah battery. It will hit 22mph with the restrictor in place. Someone from the factory said without the limiter, top speed is close to 30. He said it is a simple change to the "pot switch". Anyone know how to do this without taking it to a dealer? I don't live near one.
My Schwinn World GSE probably wouldn't do much over 25, but that limiter dropping in and out is annoying. Anybody know how to bypass it?
