    Paris Group Ride?

Hi, I've recently moved to Paris, and I'm having trouble finding a group road ride that meets more often than once a month or goes faster than 12 kph. Does any have any suggestions?

If not, want to start a new group ride with me? I'd love a social 2-3 hour @~25kph group ride on the weekends or maybe some weeknights around Il-de-France!

    hi,

    welcome to paris

    where are you from?

try the forum on velotaf.com; you'll find a community of bike commuters and there are groups there who meet up for rides / drinks / bbq, etc

    have a good ride

Hello: go on: http://www.velo101.com/ you will find what you need to ride where and when you want. There is Vincennes where you will meet a lot of cyclists as well as Longchamp--but you have to speak French--bonne chance. The South West of Paris is very enjoyable toward Versailles on to Rambouillet, a lot of cycling goes on there.

    Hi,

Did you ever have any luck finding a group to bike around with in Paris? My French is pretty basic and the links suggested seem to be suited for french-speakers. It would be nice to be able to bike with une groupe Anglophone, (so's i dont have to plan out sentences in my head!)

    Thanks-

    Hi,
I'm english and living in Paris and i have just started riding with a great bunch of people. They are mostly fixie riders but anyone is welcome and i normally go along on a vintage ten speed. It is every sunday and covers about 40 - 60 km. Everyone is very friendly and a lot of them speak english. It is mostly guys but a few girls go along as well. Good atmosphere and a leisurely ride which is covered by the organisers and walkie talkies to make sure no one gets lost ( normally me! ). Anyway here is the website that shows the route and map a couple of days before the ride http://www.surplace.fr/ the link is in french but most of the riders enjoy speaking english.
They also do Tuesday rides but it is a lot quicker pace and i'm not fast enough or fit enough for that one i think!

If you can't speak French- No problem. You will soon learn enough to communicate and there is always a youngster that has School English that wants to practice their English.

Don't know Paris but spent 2 days in Calais on my own. Meant to just cycle the local area as a tourist but the Hotel owner took me for a very enjoyable days ride.- Second day and it was Club day and 120kms later I had made a lot of friends.

    The French are fantastic.
How long was I in the army? Five foot seven.

I usually ride by myself on the weekends and would love some company. Most of the time a loop to Versailles or Chevreuse or go farther and take the train back.
