Thanks to those of you who've answered the call since I last gave a post of thanks. This is an amazing group, asking so little yet providing so much.

Items willing to facilitate: up to and including bikes. Shipping could be pokey depending on schedule. Pickup from Roanoke will definitely be pokey. If you PM me, I will give you a phone # for contact.

I also attend both the Westminster swap and the Trexlertown swaps, so if you'd prefer to avoid shipment (and I do), we can meet there.

I don't know if it is much help, but I live in Nottingham UK for part of the year for work, so if someone is really interested in a part from a shop and needs a facilitator for overseas shipment, I can probably help you out. I'm not a professional bike shipper, so would probably be more comfortable with smaller parts (especially given the requirements and expense for trans-atlantic bike shipping). I can probably pick up from a shop anywhere in the East Midlands or Manchester in person and possibly the Greater London area as well. Otherwise, most UK sellers will ship anywhere in the UK for a reasonable fee.

The rest of the year I live in the Twin Cities area, so I'm happy to help out there as well. Again, I'm not a bike shipper, just an enthusiast, so I'd be happy to get the frame to a shop or whatever and let the professionals take over. Feel free to email me through the site and I'd be happy to arrange something.

Also, as a quick FYI to those frustrated with the UK ebay sellers, I do know of a couple shops that will ship to the US if you email them directly.

I have sons in Appleton who can do pick ups but they wouldn't ship. I get over there periodically and can retrieve the items and ship from my home.

The Google map is good but doesn't catch everyone for a quick reference. Any ideas on something like a spreadsheet with rows for state/country and columns for cities covered with BF facilitator name? I'm thinking a print out would be nice to deal with on short notice - just a thought.
Great thread idea Khatfull - thanks!

Good idea, I like it. When I get a spare moment I'll put that together and see what it looks like. It would be an awesome thing to have every state covered. Of course, many states are large but we often know friends or relative we can engage, just as you describe badger_biker.

I added a test list of the volunteers back in my original post on page 1. I'll add to the list as additional folks volunteer. badger_biker, this kind of what you had in mind?

    States Left To Cover!!!

    All,

The following are the states left without a facilitator listing the state as a primary location. Some folks close to borders have mentioned other states but I'm leaving the list to their primary location just to ease keeping up with it. If you're in one of the states below think about tossing your hat into the ring. Obviously there's no hard commitment here or anything...just a willingness to entertain the possibility of helping someone out.

Thanks for the consideration and for all of you who have made yourselves available already.

BTW, the list on the first post IS current with top506's addition.

    Thanks!

I should probably post this in the 'Transaction Feedback thread' but it is in the subforum---I can vouch for Steven's packing ability, he's shipped 3 bikes to me and there has never been a problem, the bikes are packed as well as if they had come from the factory. The communication is fantastic too.
