Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

If it was my size I'd jump on it:

Leader track/fixie frame - $70 (ne pdx)

61cm Leader 720 Tr frame. It's flat black some small scratches. BB not included. I also have an aluminum track fork for an extra $50. I would trade for a steel track bike of similar size plus I would throw some money on top as well.

I'm looking to play around with a fixie before I do my own build. This came up locally and was hoping to get some feedback as to whether or not it was a good price, and if not what would be a good price for this setup? https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/bik/2363119433.html

not an especially bad deal if the conditions pretty good and it fits you.

I am 6 feet and half inch so should be okay size wise. But from the higher res pics I received bike looks relatively unused.

Yeah, i would say jump on that if it fits and there are no major dents in the frame.

KHS flite TRACK bike - $300 (N.E. PORTLAND)

don't let the paint job deceive you. and if it does, then my original idea of NOT getting a brand new cherry red fixed gear stolen- worked!
i have had this bike brand new out-of-the box since it was built and shipped to me in '06.
this bike is a 53cm bike...i am 5'4" and it was a smidgen too high for my taste.
i LOVE this bike, its a little darling one.
i just found an old 80's steel frame i am converting into a fixed gear that IS the perfect height.
there is a tiny amount of rust, but nothing to be wary of.
the paint job may turn certain people off, hence it never getting stolen.
underneath the "faux" beater paint job is a high performance track bike with original stock parts.
the original ram's horn bars are trimmed down for spatial maneuvering(another personal preference.)

I will do part or full trade for high-end track bike parts, though.(wheelset 24"/aerospoke? don't laugh.)(crankset that would fit one piece crank/bottom bracket bmx size) what have you...
and best offers will be considered
I could imaging it was once nice, but quite a bit pricey for such a "unattractive functioning bike"

****, there are less permanent ways to make your bike look ugly if you're that paranoid about it.

Bareknuckle Track Bike - $900 (NoPo)

2008 Bareknuckle track bike--size 55cm. Deda stem and seatpost, Nitto B123 handlebars, Sugino cranks with FSA track ring. Wheels are handbuilt Deep Vs to Miche Primato hubs with DT Swiss spokes (Competition). Bike is in great shape and wheels are true and super stiff. The bike's mechanically fine, I'm just moving. They came out of factory like that. The older version didn't and had a finish like that of raw 75's.

Ah I see. I actually never really liked how SSP cranks looked until I saw that mirror polished set. Attractive cranks, indeed!

Attractive, but how does their function compare to current comparable quality of new components?

A ciocc just got posted on my local cl. Guy doesnt know much about bikes. Its frame, fork, wheels, and handlebars listed for $600. If its a track frame I may pick it up. I'll try to take pics when I go check it out. If its an Enemy in nice shape I might explode.
