Got serious about losing weight this week. My morning weight as of today is 164.2lbs. My Race weight is 162 (I'm 6' tall). I started cutting carbs on Monday to lean out and the Ketosis hurts but I'm still able to train. Hopefully, I'll be at target weight by early next week and I can get back on the carbs to make sure my training is as effective as possible. First races are in February.

163.4 this morning @ 6' tall. My goal is 162. I wasn't able to do my workout on the trainer last night though - either because of cutting carbs or allergies. I can't afford to miss workouts and the big one is tomorrow. Carbs through Saturday and then back off for a few days.

Got up to 152 or so during the holiday/rest season. Got back to 145 last I checked, probably lost a pound after yesterday's ride. (Got up at 10am, sat around all day, ate nothing but a skinny PBJ, drank a couple of tablespoons of agave nectar right before my ride, then rode for 2.4 hours, a little over an hour of tempo. I'd be happy with 142 or 143 for the season. (6'0.5")

Bought a new scale and found out I weigh 6 lbs. more than I thought. I guess you can't trust those cheapo scales from walmart. Oh well, gives me more weight to lose. I am up to 175.4 this morning....hoping to get to 155 for racing season. The next few months are going to suck.

My diet absolutely sucks and I need to get it under control. I have done much better since the new year, hopefully it continues.
1/1/12 - 225
1/8/12 - 221
Hoping to be under 200 by the time tt season starts. I'm trying to keep my goals realistic. I want to be around 175 by the start of the 2013 season.

fark, really need to start eating right when now that i'm in build mode. ate like a madman last night after testing 5' power, and damn that was horrible. I think part of it was that VO2 max efforts really drains me like none other, and part of it was that I eat a lot more after riding in the cold.
I think it's doable. I had 1800 kcal of food before my FTP intervals last week, 600 during, and another 450 after, and the interval went very well. And it was bed time immediately afterwards, so I ate only so much afterwards. Maybe i ought to do all my FTP intervals indoor when the temperature is below 40F so that i won't be too hungry b/c i rode in conditions slightly above freezing.

I've been tracking my food for about 5 months. I noticed several things:
- I didn't eat enough protein
- I used to eat too much sugar
- I used to eat too many carbohydrates
- I didn't consume enough calories.
- My macronutrient ratio was out of wack.
Have any of you guys ever used a professional nutritionist? Is it worth it? Are there some that are specific to particular sports? My training is more like a track & field sprinter than a typical road cyclist. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Around the 139-141 range. My race weight last year was 138-140. I'm a bit worried I'm too lean for this point in the season and I will get sick often once the mileage and intensity increases when the season starts.
Since I'm about the weight I want, I went to see a nutritionist to help with eating more healthy (and actually start cooking). So far so good on that.

right now I'm doing "OK" the Xmas weight seems to be coming off... lots of it is water I believe right now because it is so rapid.
I had a dexa scan in December and was 203 on their calibrated scale and I'm now 205 on my bathroom scale.
the guy conducting the scan recommended I eat 2650 calories a day based on my lean mass and BF and activity level.
so far this seems to be working out along with the help of Allen Lim's cookbook https://www.amazon.ca/Feed-Zone-Cookb.../dp/1934030767
I appreciate your offer and will certainly contact you if needed. My goal this season is the low 180's.
I know you've said in other threads your wife and you both train heavily.. I believe she is a fitness competitor ?
any tips on adding lean mass once I reach the low 180's

Don't wait until you are in the 180's to add lean mass, work on it know, the added muscle will help you get to the goal more quickly.
BTW tomorrow is d-day - time to get shredded. Currently at 221 (yes GA i am a piggy) - goal will be 200-205 which puts me close to where my former race weight would have been just more muscular. Keep y'all updated. Smallguy don't hesitate to shoot me a pm and we can work together (you won't be the first
)
