Bikes: 2011 ICE Sprint Special Edition

Thumbs up Back to N+1 again! :)

I'd picked up a old ridged MTB and converted it to do utility/trailer/road work but found out my Son didn't have any transportation as the friend who lent him a bike, needed it back so I gave my Son the "trailer tugger" and was back to "N" status. Found a 2006 Fuji Monterey 3.0 for way CHEAP, changed out the HUGE 700Cx50 knobby tires for some nice 700Cx35 tires, added several accessiories and wala I've got my "utility/trailer tugger/back up bike" again and back into the exzalted status of "N+1" YEA!!! Here's a photo, (the price you ask, $100 dollars!) SWEET.

A true hybrid. Electric assist, with two bike racks. They had it set up to haul three bikes, but removed the third raid to make room for a tool box.

Two images of hybrid riders in DC yesterday..

Tourists who rode from Pittsburgh to Washington via the Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O Canal towpath, an unpaved 334 mile route (The canal towpath ends about a tenth of a mile from this spot. Watergate in background). They were about thirty miles from their destination. They will ride back too for a total of over 700 miles, most off-road.

A hybrid rider going nowhere.

Which is closer to the image of hybrid riders in the eyes of bikeforums and it's participants?

1991 Schwinn CrossCut ...

Chrome Moly frame and forks ... "Steel is real" ... and the original Panaracer "38 Special" tires still have some life left in them. Very nice riding bike that is quite versatile. I was fortunate enough to be able to salvage the fenders from another white bike. You would think they originally came as standard equipment. The Nashbar Day Trekker panniers and the Kirtland saddle bag have silver reflectorized tape that provides decent visibility when it starts getting dark out. Since taking this picture, I have added bar extensions.

She looks little too big on that bike or the bike is too small...nice nice however.

Man, that hybridized carbon DH thing is ugly.
But the amazing thing is that it still has both its wheels. that thing wouldn't last long around the Cle when I was in college.

Sirri are compact frames. Looks like she needs to raise her saddle.

Yes, the low saddle is not good for a rider who pushes like that! I forgot to straighten the picture before uploading, she is flying uphill!

I don't have a lot of quick releases on my bikes, but theft of wheels or seatpost/saddle seems rare around here. Knock on wood.
