Doohickie, you can spirit mine any time you want. It's in the black toolchest in the garage, just to the left of the stool.
Just be sure to spirit it back when you're done with it.

It wasn't me, honest. I already have two or three of them, I don't know why. I don't even like freewheels.

Spirit? I am not familiar with this term. Is this some sort of Texas slang for stealing? As in who spirited my shotgun out of my pick-up?

No, it's not a Texanism. "Spirit" is used as a verb, typically used in conjunction with "away" and yes, it is a form of stealing but it carries the connotation that the theft was done by supernatural means. Very sneaky.
If I had the power to spirit small pieces of hardened steel away from of other people's houses, I'd have a hard time stopping at freewheel pullers. Lucky for y'all, this is not among my many skills.

I took it, Paul. I hope you don't mind that I filed off two of the prongs so it would fit my two-notch freewheel. It'll still remove the four-notch freewheel, so I've basically made two tools out of the one. Just pay for return shipping and I'll send it back to you, no charge for the added value.

I bet it was the same person who got my NOS Nuovo Record Headset. Gone. . . been looking for it for 2 or 3 years, or I have CRAFT syndrome can't remember which.

I believe that would apply if the item was Spirt'ed away.
IMHO worse than losing something in this manner is when you drop something, watch it hit the floor and then no amount of searching ever turns it up. Maddening. I've had it happen twice to me in the last few months. I drop a little doodad and it hits the floor, I saw exactly where it hit the floor but It just never turns up when I bend down to find it.

I also want to clean things up and adjust the bearings and stuff. It's just easier if the freewheel is off. But it can wait. I will find the tool eventually.

Well, I recently found out I could spirit items. I have to practice on these powers as the last tool I spirited back went awry, it arrived too fast and the recipient didn't duck, a 1-1/4" crescent wrench impaled him in the forehead.

I made my own Suntour 6-prong remover, then gave it to a guy for heat-treating. He moved away & I never saw it again.
