I am riding this years Portland, OR version. This will be my first Century ride ever so I am pretty excited. Had a diabetes scare early last year, which luckily I was able to get handled through diet and excercise but there are plenty of folks who aren't able to.

In the spirit of maximizing fundraising for ADA, I wonder if a little friendly competition between BF Tour de Cure team fundraising totals could be arranged?

I think bragging rights should be sufficient. Maybe I'll start a thread.

I called the local ride manager. She didn't seem to know too much, but apparently was going to look into it.

^^ I registered in the second week of Dec. I think my paperwork came about a month-and-a-half later. I'm not too sure about the timing.

I raised over $1000 last year (first year doing it) but this year I'm gathering people to ride with me. So far I have 4 people who have committed to supporting me (by riding with me) through the ride.

I will be there at the Philly ride and going to the kick off party this wednesday. Which north jersey ride? (basking ridge)? that is the same day as our ride in philly, is it not? We'll have to introduce ourselves in Philly one way or the other. 62.5 mile ride im assuming?

My wife is riding with me and this will be her first long ride so, I'll be doing the 35 miler. I'm just thrilled that she's getting out riding with me!

We absolutely must meet up before the ride begins. I'm not sure if we can make the kick off party, work schedule is still up in the air

The Phoenix TdC is next weekend (3/12). I can't ride in it because I'm signed up to work as a safety volunteer with a local ham radio group. Rode the 35-miler last year and really enjoyed it.

    Be safe!

Keep me posted on the Kick off party. I will be there along with a friend I rode with last year and my girlfriend. If my gf rides, she will be doing the 35 mile ride with you guys and a friend of ours. I will be riding with at least one friend and possible another for the 62. Also, do you get there early or did you find yourself running late? Last year I forgot my F***n helmet so, I had to drive to a store to buy one in order to ride. This year I will be much better prepared.

I did Tucson, AZ last week. I did not enjoy it this year. It is in my neighborhood, so it is on the exact routes I ride every week. I wish that it was not a mass start. It should be a casual ride. There were a lot of grumpy drivers this year. I hope none of them recognize me the next time I ride around my neighborhood. I wonder if they even realize that they are flipping off a charity ride.

I think I will do the ride in Phoenix next year or just donate and ride somewhere else.

I'm with you there. I have no problem riding 200 miles in a day. The Pittsburgh Tour De Cure is the most brutal ride I've ever done and I used it as a training ride for myself for 150 miles the following Saturday. I had second thoughts about the ride following because of the TDC. I have upped my fundraising goal for this year because of it.
