i did the 60 on my old peugeot mixte - didnt see any other CV rides though
I did the Princeton 30 mile and did not feel it was marked very well. This was my first benefit ride ever and expected better marking. I also never saw a support vehicle. I actually went off course for about 3/4 a mile at one point. When I returned to that same point I caught 2 more riders about to make the same mistake I made. One of them believed me when I yelled across the road and came with me. I had verified my mistake with my Iphone.

Overall, I thought it was a very nice ride and I'm looking forward to doing it again. The 30 miler was actually over 35 and with my mistake, I ended up going a bit over 37. I was actually happy about this since it set a personal record. I was suprised there was only one rest stop on this route. It wasn't an issue for me but I could see 35 miles with only one rest stop being real tough on someone who has never even tried close to 35 miles before.

Regarding CV bikes, I saw a guy on an early 80's Fuji and complimented him on it. I almost went with my CV Fuji but felt for my first benefit ride I wanted the modern shifting and wider tires offered on my CX bike.

Thought I'd throw my $0.02 in.

Rode the 75km route in the Palo Alto, CA Tour de Cure. Raised $2100. Met some awesome people, it was a beautiful day and a very well put-together event. My first charity ride! Still tried to push myself a little so I spent most of the ride somewhere towards the front, solo. I hooked up a few times with a group on the first half and for the last ~8 miles joined on to a GREAT paceline group. Really really fun.

Attack in the feeling because it says I'll win absolutely.

I had a great ride at the Speedway for the Indy event. I did a metric on the track. Full report is here.

I recognize the bike, if not the rider, from Saturday. I love looking at bikes.

Looking to make a small donation.

My ride is over (Springfield, IL 5/21) so I'd like to make a donation to someone's ride that is having difficulty meeting the minimum $ amount for their upcoming ride. It is not a lot but I have negotiated a settlement from an unscrupulous ebayer and would like to donate my refund to the cause.

My younger sister is riding the Jersey Shore TDC in September with me for 100 miles and she has yet to get any donations in. Any bit to help her get started would be awesome.

Funny you posted this...I rode the 30 mile ride in Princeton as well and my reading showed just over 37 miles as well...wonder if we veered off course as well at some point. I know the actual mileage in the right direction was right around 35.

I have ridden that far and farther many times in the past, but now days... Forget it. There's no way I could do 35 miles plus with only one rest stop. I have a bad case of diabetic neuropathy and have to stop about every 5 miles or so and walk the bike for at least 5 to 10 minutes before it settles down and I can continue riding. I can do 15 miles no problem, 20 if I stop several times, but I doubt I could do 35 miles without some serious pain. Both during and after the ride...

Anybody else doing the NC TdC? It's gonna be awfully lonely if I'm the only bf.net rider there...
