Solvang Century. Goal was sub-five hours. Finish time: 5:00:29. Pretty windy, but not as bad as last year. I was passed by only one rider the whole time on a long downhill, but quickly passed him back. Spent the whole day pulling trains of drafters. At least it was a moderate improvement on last year's effort.

WOW!! That's pretty impressive! I'm doing my first century in a couple of months Long Beach Tour De Cure. My goal is to finish! under 6 hours and in one piece!
BTW, how do you change the name of the link ? I noticed it says solvang century rather than the garmin.connect123456789 etc

Thanks. I've been training all year and was actually hoping to shatter 5 hours. Ah well, maybe the weekend after next at Hell's Gate Hundred in Death Valley (fewer stoplights!)

To link your text, simply copy-paste the URL into a phrase thus: [ url = http://www.garminconnect.youractivity.com ] Here's my Garmin Data [ / url ]

(And you would remove the spaces between the brackets (which I had to use to show you the UBB code.) Good luck on your century!

North Fontana up Lytle Creek Rd, to the ranger station. Nice wind pushing me up and slowing me down on the descent!

God I hate posting immediately after Ben; gives me gym-shower anxiety...
My Catalina ride last Friday (in my defense, it was a mountain bike ride and there were bison on the trail):

Did you bring a trainer on the ferry or something?

Nope. I parked in Newport Beach and turned on the Garmin for the ride to the Ferry so I could remember how far down Balboa I parked. I turned it off for the ferry ride, so those miles were not added to my ride, but the map makes it appear as if the computer were on (which was not the case.)

Hilly, windy ride to get ready for l'Etape next weekend: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/83097556

Couldn't find my Garmin for the Long Beach Ship to Shore Century. Turned out it was the best thing that could have happened. I had no clue how fast I was going, or even what time it was and enjoyed the ride!!!

    Here are my stats:

    Finished the ride
    Almost hit a peacock
    Had a good time

Ack! Glad he missed you! I hit a stupid, heavy pheasant one morning while motorcycling across Wyoming and it nearly killed me. Fortunately I was wearing a full-faced helmet and my luggage was stacked high enough on the back of my bike that it kept my neck from breaking.
There were beautiful feathers everywhere (even a small one lodged in my helmet visor), and the remains weighed at least 5 pounds. I'd slowed to just over 50 before the impact, but my neck hurt for months after that.

l'Etape du California, plus the ride back to Memorial Park in Upland. About 100-miles round trip, but I didn't start my computer until the start of l'Etape. Fun day!

Do you guys have your units set to "metric" ? Noticed Chris and Ben's last read the same. Wonder if it's garmin connect.

Must have been a Garminconnect hiccup. I always use miles.
