    coast to coast

    I have just bought a road bike for charity bike ride.
    Going from whitehaven to robin hoods bay.
    Could somebody tell the best way by road.

    Never done that one but I have done the offroad version several years ago.

    Whatever route you do choose- hopefully you have plenty of miles behind you. good luck

    Have a look at www.bikeroutetoaster.com - that will help you find a route. I just ran it through but short of posting something huge here it's hard to put the route in. The route it suggested is 240km but that's based on a guess as to specific starting and ending points.

    If you are interested in coastal bike rides, I've just entered Beach to Beach bike ride - for Barnardo's - cant wait!

    This thread is a little old, but you can use the National Cycle Network for coast to coast. For example Carlisle to Newcastle, just follow Route 10 (very well sign posted)
