Recommend a good bike repair shop in Minneapolis area?

Can anyone recommend a good bike repair shop in Minneapolis area? Last time I needed something I just went to Erik's and they pinched my tube, which exploded on the ride home. I need a derailleur adjustment.

Not Minneapolis but County cycle in Roseville is a great shop, I don't know much about the others but since finding County I've never had to look any further.

There's only one County Cycle that I know of, http://countycycles.com/

Yeah, sure, west suburbs would be best.

Hard to find better coffee and atmosphere than Angry Catfish.

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I hope you decided just to learn how to adjust your derailleur on your own.

I still haven't fixed it. Riding on the trainer went by the wayside the last few months. I'm now thinking about riding again since the snow has melted, but never figured out how to adjust the derailleur. I tried printing off that huge Park Tool instruction packet, but it just bounced right off. I was planning on just taking it in for a tune-up soon.

I use different shops. Hollywood Cycle, 98th and Lyndale south is good.
County Cycle head mechanic just opened his own shop, Omnium, near Selby and Dale, in St. Paul

Not a metro shop, but I cannot say enough good things about Milltown Cycles in Faribault. Small, two man operation with unlimited skills, in all aspects of cycling. Very impressive stock and knowledge? can't be beat...

One on one isn't the greatest place for shopping but their repair work is top notch. Varsity bikes has lots of great stuff but I don't know much about their service department. But then you're also pretty close to all the good stuff.

I take that back. 33bikes in Hopkins is a good place for mechanical stuff. Not too many bikes yet but you should give them a try.

I have to plug Boehm's - two locations, one on Selby and Snelling in St. Paul and the other in Mendota Heights on 110 and 35E. Pete at Mendota is a bike genius.

I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience at Erik's. Which shop were you at? I'm friends with the guys at the Dinkytown store, so I may be a little biased, but they definitely know what they're doing and will probably give you a freebie if you let them know about the pinched tube.

Other than that, Freewheel on the Greenway is excellent. I brought my bike in there just planning to fill up the tires, but ended up getting a free post cleaning, grinding, and seat adjustment, all the while having the mechanic tell me what he was doing and why he was doing it. The coffee shop is a great place for a carbload too, and it also sells proteins and multis.

There are many in your are, however, the best way to search for a good repair shop in your area is to perform a quick search on internet. I am sure that you would definitely get a good shop. However, just make sure to go through its feedbacks and reviews.

For the record, I went to Jonny Rock Bikes in Hopkins. Small shop, nice guy that runs in (Jonny), and a nice tight tune-up. He mostly works on old bikes, which was great for me.
