I honestly believe that lance can pull a victory with a 10 min lead, my question is, whats the largest lead win ever? who? what year? how many min? thanks![]()

I do believe that in 1903, Cesar Garin (France)had a
2hr 49min 45sec lead over second place Lucien Pothier.
Yes Hours.
Racing was a bit different back then.
That's got to be some kind of record.
Are guys really this burnt out on racing? Winter training is just around the bend.
why are all these 10 yr. old threads, that were stupid 10 yrs. ago, resurfacing. cut it out.
I can't figure out if I am burnt out on racing. I think I was just at the beginnings of what has now become a full-on headcold when I raced terribly on saturday.
how long will it be before you can pedal a bike again CDR?
The largest margin of victory for me was approx. 15 feet. Haven't beaten it since.
dunno. I think "pedaling a bike' and "riding a bike on the road" will be two different answers though. I have a feeling I'll be able to pedal slowly (I hope) in 3-4 weeks. I may need to get a recumbent trainer, not sure how sitting on a saddle will feel if I can't support a lot of weight w/upper body. Sitting is fine. Dunno how pelvises heal, dunno where the breaks are ("upper" and "lower").
Shoulder may take a while more. MRI yesterday, will learn results today or tomorrow. No experience with soft tissue damage, and dunno what's actually damaged.

When I was a junior, I had occasions where I was the only entrant in my category. How big would you consider that margin? And before anybody flames me, those medals went in the circular file... but the results stayed on my resume![]()

They say that one could measure the gap between Coppi and the rest of the field, not by minutes... but by the tolling of the church bell and that once he broke away he could never be caught.
