Talking Ride For Life 2011 - Fuquay Varina, NC

    Summary:

The Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church cycling group, "Spiritual Spinners" is putting on a fully-supported ride on Saturday, May 14th. Distances include 30k, 50k, and 100k (about 19 miles, 31 miles and 62 miles, respectively).

Registration is only $25, with proceeds going to support Diabetes & MS causes, local food banks, and the church's missions programs.

If you're riding in the NC Tour de Cure, this is an excellent training ride - 3 weeks before the TdC, fully-supported, and at only 25 bucks, one of the best bargains you'll find for a supported ride. IIRC, the church's cycling group is also putting forth a team for the TdC.

Note that there is some disparity on when checkin times are: one pdf says 7a.m. for 100k riders; the active.com signup says 8a.m. I'm following up on that.

25 bucks for a fully-supported ride is a bargain, and they put on a good ride. Good food at the finish, too, although I only sampled it.

Check it out for next year - it's always the Saturday after Mother's Day.
