    Police Auctions are great!

I just returned from my first police auction and I gotta tell ya they have tons of bikes there most for under $100. I won a Malon folding bike for dirt cheap $80 bucks.

The odds of finding a folding bike were pretty much zero but to find two was almost impossible. Yet they had two identical models in different colors. I won the black one you see in the image for $30 less. Glad people didn't know about about folding bikes.

Its in fairly good condition. I tried looking the bike up online but it seems that it may be a knockoff of a Melon bike. Anyone have any insight?

I've never noticed police auctions in our area, I'll be keeping an eye open for them from now on

From what I know, most bikes that get lost/stolen without a licence/registration end up taking up Police HQ basements and have to be auctioned off.

A few years ago I got a Schwinn Paramount with all its Campy bits for $5. But soon after, the local PD stopped selling individual bikes and began selling in lots at a website called "property room". I could still find good deals on certain bikes, but I would have to buy 10 to get the one that I wanted.

    Good to know, thanks.

Now I need to make sure the police does not impound mine.
