Greetings from a newbie from Athens, Greece!
It's been only a week since I purchased a budget 28" city bike which will help me commute to and from work which is approximately 3 miles away and which up until Friday I had needed to take the car there and go around in circles for 10-20 minutes searching for a parking spot!![]()

A few things you should know... I'm a 40 yo ex-pat, born in Pittsburgh PA, and have been living in Athens, Greece from the mid-80's. Because of my dependency on cars (and lack of exercise), I've ballooned up to 310 lbs making cycling really difficult... add the lack of bike paths and the highest road accident rate in Europe, and you can guess that transitioning from cars to bikes isn't easy here!
After reading your Clydesdales/Athena section, and drawing inspiration from all the people that lost weight and improved their lives; I hope to add my (success) story there soon!
Thanks!
Telly
