    Banff to Vancouver ideas

I will be taking the Tour Divide from Denver up to Banff in a couple days and was thinking about adding to the trip if I have the time. I would like to stay on dirt as much as possible. Some routes that I have seen others take:

HWY 93 north to HWY 16, west on HWY 16 to HWY 5, HWY 5 south

A shorter trip would be to take Route 1 to HWY 5 (to make it a little more interesting 5a can be used which bypasses Kamloops).

Could also head back south and get on HWY 3 to take that west.

    Thanks for any ideas.

Consider going from Banff to Golden on Highway 1, then heading south on Highway 93 and taking Highway 3 west. When you get to Creston, head north, go through Nelson and Kaslo, then to New Denver, Nakusp and Vernon. Go south to Summerland, take the back road to Princeton (which is about half gravel) and then follow Highway 3 and then Highway 7 into Vancouver.

From Chilliwack west, avoid Highway 1. It's not fun on a bicycle.
    Life is good.
