    Bikesdirect - another awful experience

I got my bike with bent derailleur hanger. I contacted them and got a cheap replacement that didn't even fit properly. They have no number to call. All you can do is send an email wait that someone will respond. It is impossible to communicate over the email and give all the details.

It's been two months and i haven't been able to ride the bike once. One more chance, and if they can't fix this, i am going file a claim with my CC and report these guys.

Just a warning to you all, avoid them and opt for something local. it would have saved a lot of trouble for me.

    derailleurhanger.com.

It'll cost you a little money, but you'll get over your resentment sooner.

That is strange. I find it easier to give all the details via email.

What details do you need to provide besides model and year? I think that's all they'll need to send out a new hanger. I've read on here that they're pretty good about getting new hangers in the mail pretty quickly.

I had my rear derailleur and hanger break resulting in the breaking of my chain last week on a sunday. Sent them an email with pictures and story that day and they had the repalcement parts in the mail the next day. Got the parts within 3 days. I had no problems with them.

In other forums ( unrelated to biking ) I have seen this a good bit.

New poster, says don't buy from wherever.

Every single one I have ever seen, was a jerk that was attempting to vent, and had never taken appropriate action to have his problem properly resolved.

This is not a BF member who wants to be a member, and part of this community.

This is a poster with an axe to grind.

IMO, these sort of threads should be deleted.

I was just playing around because anyone who gives a positive review is always labeled a shill.

Here is my BD Motobecane cross titanium team bike

Here is my Motobecane BD cross titanium team bike with some pictures, and I had a very positive experience as a costumer and this was my first time on line bike purchase, it took me 3 months to convince myself and proof to myself that it is going to work out. Buying is easy, the difficulty for me is the buy the right thing the first time so my research in that 3 months resulted in that despite I have 8 local LBS I could not even find my size (49 cm) with them (LBS) forget matching the price point. So for me BD was the only choice.

In all honesty, he shouldn't have to grind a brand new axe.

I bought my Schwinn Voyageur IG3 from them last year. Great price, free & fast shipping, and it arrived with all parts in perfect condition. I've currently got my eye on a mini Velo they have,...great online seller.

@Siu Blue Wind: thanks for the contact info. I tried to order another bike from them, but their site was giving me problems. I emailed them, and they called almost a week later. I got my Biomega Puma Nevis instead, but I'll DEFINATELY be a customer of theirs again.

I recently purchased a Schwinn LeTour Sport from Bikes Direct after a less than pleasant interaction from a different online dealer. My transaction with Bikes Direct was flawless, and I couldn't be happier with my new bike. I'm getting back into wrenching bikes so I was comfortable assembling the bike. To quote Newman, "That's one sweet ride."

I bought from them (BD) this week and had my bike in 4 days. It was exactly as advertised and I had no damages. I have been very happy with the experience and am beginning to save for my next BD Bike the fantom 29r pro.
