    Group rides in Canberra?

Does anybody have any recommendations for how to locate group rides for a somewhat dedicated but non-racing middle-aged road cyclist?

I am temporarily relocating to Canberra from 1 October through 1 May. I'm looking for group rides - 50-150 km, 25-32 kph averages (for a flat course- as I usually live in the US midwest, I'm not used to much climbing, but I'm game for a challenge). Weekends, mornings, or, once the days get longer, evenings.

    Thanks

G'day. It sounds like Pedal Power is what you want. http://www.pedalpower.org.au/ There are racing clubs as well but you specified non racing. Enjoy your visit to Canberra. Canberra is a series of valleys so the terrain is mostly rolling hills but they are usually not huge hills unless you go looking for them.

Yes some do but they will be training rides for those into racing.

Once your here you will most likely find some people interested in group rides and Pedal Power will be where to start.

I arrived here about 10 days ago and had a very nice ride doing the "Sunday Wanderers" with Pedal Power last Sunday. At the outset a fellow told me that the ride would be "dead flat". Well, by my standards it was quite hilly, but that's because I come from the American midwest. But everybody was extremely friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back.

I'm glad you enjoyed your ride. Spring in Canberra can be temperamental weather wise but it gets warmer from here.
