I ended up reserving a room at the Quality Inn, just in case El Segundo gets off the fence and comes up too! Friday evening social still sounding good? Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Oh yeah, a Friday night get together will have to be the order of the day. We'll have to research someplace near the hotels.

I thought I would remind a few people, this ride is approaching quickly (June 2nd) and the registration is still open in case anybody wants to make some last minute plans.

Stay tuned!”

It turns out that we have a family wedding in Florida the week before the Natchez Trace ride. The possibility of a round-trip circuit from Boston to Florida to Tennessee and back to Boston certainly appeals to my wanderlust.
Unless I win the lottery soon, it looks like I won’t make the Natchez Trace Ride. However, I finally got the presumed date of the Mass Bike Summer Century & Family Ride as Sunday, July 29. So I am proposing this as an alternative Ride. I’d like to see a “Show of Hands” of how many would be interested in such a venue, and then we could further discuss the logistics. If there is enough interest, I would start a spin-off thread. I estimate about at least ten serious replies would be sufficient to make it worthwhile, to allow for those who couldn’t make it at the last minute, as happened on the Third Annual Ride in Ann Arbor.

It looks like most who are staying in hotels are at the Quality Inn, I looked over Google maps and it seems on the local strip with plenty of restaurants and bars. Those of us camping at Cycler's Rest will have to depend on you guys to find a good place to hook up for Friday night dinner. We'll need to get a phone list together before we get down there, I'll be down on Thursday evening.

I hope that a photo opportunity with the pros is possible... that would be cool. Looks like the ride is still open to registration. I see that they have now posted GPS details about the routes. I'm doing the metric, FWIW.

Marc, I will PM you my phone cell phone number as time draws closer.

Sounds like a plan... the expo seems to run from 4:00 to 7:30. I'll try to get in in time to pick up my packet at around 3:30ish and then go to the expo... dinner afterward seems logical. I see the metric course is hilly with 3700 feet of climbing... white shoes should help with that.

Sounds good. And it will be after M.D. so your white shoes will be fine to wear, and fast too. I 'am thinking bout doing a century Fri. on the Nachtez parkway if it is not to hilly. We bumped down to 44 miles on sat. This is my wife first group ride so she a little nervous. She wil be fine on the 44.Mainly she wants pics with Ben King...hmm

After the drive down, I'll be in the mood for a ride on Friday for certain. I'm not sure about a century. You know how it is, I those to sneak up on me!

Forecast for Sat. is overcast with high of 73! Should be perfect and a nice change from the 90's. I will be working at a rest stop with a Saturday Night Live theme, coneheads, killer bees, etc. I will be the one with the white beard, probably a killer bee, say hello. Also, there is a new IHOP on hwy 96, just west of I65, if you want lots of carbs. If your group wants to ride Friday, head out west from Franklin on new hwy 96 to the Natchez Trace, park at the lot at mile 440, which is north of where you enter the Trace, and ride south. Very scenic.
