I would be interested in buying a waterproof seat cover but never one that came with gel in it. They sell that crap at department stores already and its uncomfortable. Less padding is better than more padding.
I need some sick crap for my Western Flyer.

wrong audience, however i'll do your survey just for fun.
By the time you're experienced enough to get something germane out of a test ride, you won't need a test ride.
eww gell padding is yuck
You might want to go to the hybrid forum with this one. Gel pads are counterproductive to roadie-specific saddles because it puts pressure on the perineum, cutting off blood supply and nerves, leading to for lack of a better term, numb nuts. Due to this and the fact that most roadies waste a bunch of money trying to find a saddle that actually works for them, they will be very reluctant to try anything new.
You got it buddy: the large print giveth, and the small print taketh away

I took the survey. But two things:
1. Road bikers do NOT like padded seats or seat covers; imagine sliding around on a seat cover for scores of miles.
2. You misspelled "definitely", which makes you look, you know, ... dumb.
+1 for seat covers suck.
In my time working at a bike shop we would keep the gel padded seat covers hidden and when somebody asked for them we would strongly discourage the customers from buying them and instead suggest a good pair of shorts (or liner shorts if they commute or don't like the lycra).
That being said almost nobody ever asked for the gel seat covers and even fewer actually bought them.
Saddles are rather expensive and cyclists are rather particular about them. The don't want anything that will change it's fell and they're not going to flip a cover inside out and ride on it with the wet side potentially ruining their $100+ saddle. I might buy a saddle for when my commuter bike has to sit outside and it's raining, but nothing I'd ride on. Oh and you should change the price range of the amount people spend on parts repairs. I think you'll find most people are well over the last category. I had some other comments, but they got deleted when the thread got moved, so this is what I remember. Sorry, but this isn't a product avid cyclists would use or buy.
Well, my junk was numb a long time ago and gel is fine on a cruiser.
