Go Jim Go! Official Ride for Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
Okay folks, first off let me introduce myself. My name is Adam and I am from Memphis, Tn. I am fairly new to the road biking game. I had been somewhat involved in BMX and mountain biking but now my heart lies with road biking.
This year I participated in Go Jim Go! which is a sponsored ride to raise money for Le Bonheur Children's Hospital here in Memphis. Basically the ride is a bunch of average guys and some great riders riding with Jim Jaggers from News Channel 3 in Memphis. Jim is a fairly big guy, not what you would picture when you think of someone pulling the mileage he does. In 7 days we ride 333+ miles. This year we raised over $160,000 and I want next year to be even more! So, I just wanted to go ahead and post this up to start raising awareness. We would love for businesses, schools, churches, Sunday school classes or even single donors and families to get involved. If you would like to help I will post up some websites below where you can read more info and make donations. I want to go ahead and thank those who will help and those who can't but would love to. It is just awesome to see this hospital that offers so much to the community to flourish because of our monetary gifts! Thank you so much for your consideration!!
Okay folks, I am getting everything set up to start taking donations for Go Jim Go! 2012! The dates have already been set and we are already preparing for several fundraisers through local businesses, churches and schools. We also accept any private donations. If you would like to donate, please contact me on here via pm or reply in thread or you can contact me through my e-mail at ablackwood07@yahoo.com. The dates for this year's ride are Sept. 26, 2012-Oct. 3, 2012. I am a team rider and we will be covering 333+ miles throughout Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri.
Go Jim Go! is a ride done by average riders at best. Jim Jaggers of News Channel 3 of Memphis heads up the ride. We cover counties in four states while also hosting a telethon as the ride progresses. Last year we raised over $160,000 for the children of Lebonheur Children's Hospital. We hope to raise quite a bit more than that this year, our 6th annual year, and provide these children with fantastic healthcare. Lebonheur is a nonprofit children's hospital specializing in long-term, short-term and urgent care situations. Please find it in your hearts to help us out!
