Years ago I used to frequent a fun cafe on Fulton Street in San Francisco called the Gorilla Grotto. It was also the unofficial headquarters of a shadowy group of regulars called the San Francisco Cacaphony Society. Every once in awhile they would have special events which I fondly remember as being very special in that it was there that I saw a lot of truly weird films that I would otherwise never have had the chance to see.

One of the events that I remember was held from time to time and it was entitled the "Paranoia Festival" or something like that. This was probably in the very late 70s to mid 80s.

Two of the films I clearly remember seeing at the Paranoia Festival were:

The Presidents Analyst
The 5000 fingers of Dr. T.

The rest come back from time to time, but I really need to sit down and work at it, because this was really a very long time ago and a galaxy far far away from where I am now.

But, I do have some recen favorites which I would nominate for a current Paranoia Festival and so I'd like to share them here.

I want to start a thread here so this is just the few that come to mind as being really amazing in one way of another.

My first nominations would be:

Brazil (Terry Gilliam)
Save the Green Planet
Pi: The Movie
Black Swan
THX1138 (George Lucas's first film)
