    Moab in Late August?

I realize late August is far less than ideal, but is riding Moab an option this time of year? Considering coming to Colorado to watch some Procycling Challenge next summer and were hoping we might be able to slip over to Utah if the race route is close enough.
    Thanks.

Agree, I would say it's not an option, unless you are willing to do short rides and start at dawn.

There's mountain biking in Colorado too - not slickrock, but Crested Butte & Fruita (also probably too hot) are well known for mountain biking, then there's the Colorado Trail, lots of trails near Nederland, and I'm sure a ton of other options too.

Thanks. I thought that was probably the case but wanted to be sure.

Some high country riding is already on the list, road and mountain. We expect to drive back to Oklahoma completely exhausted

Fruita is quite nice late august, not too hot, and we have about a weeks worth of trails. We even have some pretty darn nice road rides.

GJ did put a bid in for the Challenge next year. The race official was out here looking at Lands End Road - a very gravelly road that ascends the Grand Mesa. It would be quite a challenge. I heard a rumor that either GJ or Durango might be the Prologue city.
