    Sandia Crest Highway around Christmas

Perhaps this is a stupid question. I come to Albuquerque for christmas almost every year. Last year I brought my mountain bike and rode some trails in the Manzanos.

Would riding up Sandia Crest Highway on a road bike be possible around christmas or would it be too snowy?

Pete, I can't say for certain that it's impossible. We did have some snow in the city this weekend and there's quite a lot on the mountain. The summit and upper mountain are very cold and snowy this time of year. I have been up there several times on the tram this time of year and it is rather cold and icy.
