Mark on the inside of my right butt cheek, near pernium/taint. Please help! *Pic*

Hi guys and gals. New member here.

I've had the same bump in the same place for a good 6 months now and I road bike as a hobby. I've had this discoloration on my right buttock on the inside of my butt cheek, near my taint/perenium area.

It's been extremely uncomfortable, and I've just dealt with the pain. But I can no longer bear it.

I took a picture ** Tried to make it as "pretty" as possible **

Is is cancer?!?! A Cyst!?!?! who should I go to see to fix this? A dermatologist?

Should I wear some underwear underneath my road shorts? Tidey whities?

    Thanks so much guys!

It is difficult for me to see exactly where the lesion is located but my first suspicion would be a hemorrhoid of some sort.... The fact that it has been around for 6 months kind eliminates that possibility....Could be a tumor or cyst. Seek medical attention soon.

My wife, a nurse of 26 years, says it looks like a cyst or an ingrown hair.

She says you should visit your family doctor first.

He said it was simply just a hair folicle that probably interracted with my sweat that I produce down there when I ride, it then developed into a "bump". He didn't really give me a "diagnosis" really..

I tell everyone the same thing: wash your crotch with dandruff shampoo ASAP after riding and during every shower. Put the shampoo on first and then wash everything else. I use Selsun Blue, but I think any would work. Got that from a dermatologist. Never had another sore, and I've done 18 hour rides.

I had a similar situation, was going to keep me from my first organized century. Did a bit of self-surgery and was ok. Stupid approach, but doc would have lanced it too. Not recommending diy surgery, but if the doc does lance it you should be fine real quick.

Both cleanliness after and lubrication during is real important. I am still a bit overweight, so I use bag balm to lube up before a ride (or chamois buttr). No problems as long as I have lubricated and washed. Faithfully!

If you don't have health insurance go to a Free Clinic and see a PA, NP or Dr.

Is there any way to safely and easily remove the hair "back there?" (I guess I don't know of a way to delicately say "hairy butt crack," sorry.)

do not google "skin cancer" it will freak you out more.. most likely a cyst - see a dermatologist.

This is a bumped thread from a few months ago, it ended up just being a terrible saddle sore. I got it taken care of.

    Thanks!
