Another one I did just yesterday. Pennyroyal Tea (Nirvana Cover) MY voice was shot from doing several other songs and lost it by the end. Still sounds good.

this thread slips down to page two; i post moar of my crap 4 u:

This was a late 80s Junior through a really wonderful tube rectified Dr. Z Maz Jr. 1x12 combo - 18w from 2 EL84S into a Greenback. One P-90, spring reverb on the amp, and that's it.
Oh great, now my post makes no sense.

I'll post up here eventually. But not yet. I'm like a great Olympic athlete in training.

Very pretty Anthony; i loved the chords. And being I'm listening from way over the pond from you, I thought it was cool that your accent was evident in your singing!

Thank you. This song was a long time in the making. The chords and melody had been around for a while but the difficult thing was writing lyrics that were worthy of the tune.

In case you missed it the other places I posted this, first time I've ever really been on tape. I laid down rhythm/lead guitars/vocals, my pal Az did a bass track, the frontman from his band did backup vocals.

I suck at that sport too, but at least I don't get dropped.

for me, the hardest thing has always been coming up with good melodies to sing. Chords I can write, and sometimes I get lucky with lyrics if I don't try to get too clever. But vocal melodies? I'm clueless. And in awe of people who can write them....

Everyone writes songs differently but for me it always starts with a chord based riff. The riff always suggests a vocal melody to me and then you develop a verse, chorus structure. Then I listen to the mood of the music which suggests lyrics to me. Eventually.

I'm not always doing simple I,IV,V chord progressions. If I did I guess that I would run out of melody idea's in a hurry.

    Ohh, nicely sung Pcaddy.

You sound like me. I've got an instrumental piece under construction now mixing Spanish Classical and a raw aggressive rock sound and feel.

The other day I say to my wife 'you know if I keep playing like this for a year I might get better on the guitar'. She says to me 'but you're always playing the same song'. I reply 'Baby, it's rock n roll, it all is the same song'.

Here's a little something of mine, called Hispaniola. It's Spanish Classical in style.

great job, as always, Anthony. I have to say, you have such a great sense of time. that's hard when playing solo, for me anyway.

Thanks. I practice the groove. To me its an important part of the music. I'm don't always work with a metronome although I have in this song. I like to speed up and slow down sometimes but still keep in time with myself.
