Phoenix and Las Vegas, Tour de Cure, American Diabetes ride-who is game?

    Phoenix, March 24: http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR/Tou...try&fr_id=7993

    Las Vegas, April14: http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR/Tou...try&fr_id=8081

I am riding both and wonder who else is participating. I will be on a team in the Phoenix ride in honor of a high school friend. If anyone wants to join in, you are more than welcome. We have two groups, one will ride the metric century, others are just going the 30 mile ride.

If anyone is interested in forming a S. NV team, let me know. I would enjoy meeting some of the BF family.

If you are going to be there and just riding, or riding with a different group, good job and good luck.

    I do the Phoenix ride...

I'm not sure if my LBS is going to have a team. I'll ask the owner as I and a few others usually represent them since we ride together all the time.

The start is very near one of my restaurants and both courses pass by my other one (and very near my home as well) so I'm very familiar with the roads. If you haven't done the Phoenix ride you'll like the smooth roads (there are a few miles on the frontage road from Anthem to New River that are a little rough).

We'll have to figure out a way to meet and at least say hi!

Welcome aboard Francis. I am riding with a group that graduated from South Mountain High in the 70's. Looks like you are new around here. Have you been riding long? Been in the Valley long?

I've just signed up for the Las Vegas ride (the 40 mi.), it's my first bike race of any kind. There are a few LBS that have teams and a few cycling clubs in the area. I'm just getting into cycling so I don't know who from the clubs/shops is online but I'm sure there's some crossover. Good luck to you all BTW!

Hey Fenton, I am going to ride the Phoenix and Las Vegas rides. Officially they are rides not races, but many try to finish as quickly as possible. So it feeds the competitive monster many of us have inside of us. They are a great way to meet people and learn bike routes. The Bike shops provide support so you learn who is helpful. Its a good cause, good luck to you as well.
