Where's the best scenic riding through the winter?

Now that you can't ride to Sunrise on Mount Rainier, where are some of the best places to take your bike for long-ish scenic rides?

I would love to hear suggestions near Seattle (eg within an hour or two driving time) but anywhere in the Northwest might do. Post photos if you can!

What's Discovery Pass like on a weekend this time of year?

I heard they're keeping Hurricane Ridge Road open every day this winter. What does that mean for cyclists? Is it reasonably plowed, but you still need a 4x4 to get to the top, or can you ride a skinny-tire road bike up?

Has anyone been on the North Cascades Highway lately? Can you ride a road bike up to the closure and then down to Marblemount?
