My computer says 17438 miles, 1024 hours, 603 MJ of energy. I don't remember when it was reset, I think in 2010 sometime, so the number is pretty meaningless. Besides the fact that I have no life and spent way too much time pedaling.
I see hills.... Bring them on!!!

I set one goal a year ago. That one I made about half way through December. It was for every month to have 500 or more road miles (not counting trainer time). At the beginning of December, I took a look at my mileage for the year and decided to set another goal. Finished that the day after Christmas. 8023 mi for the year.

Some sort of pithy irrelevant one-liner should go here.

4020 miles and 257,500 feet for me. My goal for next year is less riding, more running, and more donuts.

6,183 miles with about 500,000 feet of climbing.
3 Double Centuries: Devil Mountain Double, Davis Double, Knoxville Double
7 Centuries: only 2 were supported - Steven Cozza's Giro Bello and The Hideous Hundred (10,000 feet)
1 unforgettable 50 miler: The Nifty Ten Fifty - 10,000 feet of climbing in just 50 miles in the Berkeley/Oakland Hills
    20 trips up Mt. Diablo
    2 up Mt. Hamiltons
    1 up Mt. Tamalpais

My only goal was to get my gold triple crown jersey
6,607 miles with 389,988 ft climbing
5 doubles: Camino Real, Solvang, Davis, Grand Tour, Knoxville
Surprisingly, only 2 organized centuries: Sequoia, Santa Cruz Mountain Challenge
One organized metric century: Levi's Gran Fondo (only because I couldn't register in time)

I can't even count the number of times I went of the major climbs (but I do remember doing both sides of Hamilton twice)
I'm in it to finish it.

I don't have computers on many of my bikes, so I have to guess. I did about 5,000 on the commute bike, 1,200 on double centuries, so conservatively estimate 8,000 miles this year. This year's resolution is 200K a month, and better accounting of the miles.

1,314 miles and 103,000 feet. Small potatoes compared to you guys!

Nice work, everyone, and all the best in 2012. My goal is to do more commuting by bike and to ride at least 2,500 miles.

Thanks ROJA, there are still some sane people around here.

After a banner year in 2010 with 2,000 miles... for me at least, I didn't set any goal for 2011. I knew it would be a busy year on the family side and would be difficult to find the time for organized rides and for training. What I didn't anticipate was a nagging back injury that kept me mostly off the bike for half of the year.

So I barely made the 1,000 miles barrier with roughly 68,000 feet of climbing. It was four years I hadn't ridden so few miles.

The highlight of the year wasn't on wheels but on feet when I hiked to the summit of Mt. Whitney with my son and a friend, even though the adventure aggravated my back issue.
Thankfully I could join the last couple BF rides in the East Bay; the Morgan Territory-Diablo loop and the Diablo Christmas ride.

Kudos to all, some of you have very impressive, should I say insane, numbers to show.

Wishing all the best for 2012.

Gepel, I know you, you're the kind of guy who goes out and rides doubles when the only exercise he's had in months is inflating tires the day of the ride...

My goals: Ride as many time trials as possible, place 2nd or better at the Esparto Time Trial, win something, maybe, and enjoy the riding.

I took 2nd at Esparto, kept shaving time off my TT practices, won our category at the Altamont team TT, open division, tried track racing (what a blast!), trained harder than I ever have, and I got a new TT bike to boot.

Total miles (not divided between road, TT or tandem): 6386.

    Total feet climbed: 162,346

Time in the saddle: 427:51:15 (Hrs:min:sec).

    Regrets: Not a single one.

2012 goals: Continue to shave time off my races; race more team TTs, continue loving my rides and friends.

I hope you all achieve your 2012 goals, especially the cycling ones.

OK, I'm only posting this to make the rest of you feel good.

    Mike: 1321 miles road bike
Eddy: 314 miles foul weather vintage bike
Dave: 838 miles fixed gear commuter bike
    Tandem: 275 miles Bike Friday

2750 total...750 miles short of my goal...need a few more centuries and longer Saturday morning rides.

    9439 miles w/ 335k of footies.
Included 12 centuries (6 self supported), numerous races, and a lot of laughs and smiles.
Oh, and I basically took November off the bike.
Looking for a chateau. Twenty-one rooms but one will do. I don't want to buy it. I just want to rent it for an hour or two.

2011 was a stronger year for me, basically my third full year of riding "as a cyclist." My only goal was to keep it up, as December approached I saw that I was way under my mileage total for last year. So I had to step it up. I had recently started using Strava which I found to be excellent as it can track your overall performance on climbs. I don't care so much about others but seeing how or if you improved was cool. The final week of 2011 Strava had the Rapha 500k challenge and I pulled in with 513, getting my yearly total quite close to 2010 numbers. I also road far fewer paid centuries than in the past.
    3,688.5 Total Miles
    +292,747 feet of climbing
Strawberry Fields Forever metric (too rainy and wet for my taste to ride the 100 mile.)
    Santa Cruz Mtn Challange metric
High Sierra Fall Century (96 miles actually)
Leaf Pepper Fall Century (94 miles actually)
Three Mountains, Three Days (Tam, Diablo, Hamilton)

For 2012 - more of the same!

Let me know if you decide that powertap ownership is no longer well aligned with your goals.

My goal was to ride to work every day. Didn't quite make it but did average 3 days a week which is a big win for me. Three years ago I biked to work only on "bike to work" days. Now I do it 75% of the time I only go into the office 4 days a week. My commute rain or shine is 24 miles round trip. Having just turned 60 last year I am really enjoying every mile I ride.
To me the life is a glass half full, I love optimism, life's better that way.
