Shipping bikes home from Rome

Hi all,
I'm heading over to Europe this year to ride for a month or so -At the end of that month I'm meeting my partner in Rome before we do the non-riding part of our holiday.

I'd rather not carry my bike around the rest of Europe - is anyone in the forum familiar arranging transportation of said bike back to Australia?

Alternatively I'd be tempted to ship the bike to Venice for me to pick up before we fly out of Europe - Has anyone had any experience with this?

Regards,
Damo

I am about to have my bikes shipped back to Oz or NZ. I can't give you too much advice on the actual transportation but you should probably make sure the bike is spotless and ditch the tyres and this way you may save the cost of customs steam cleaning it.

I am having my bikes boxed by my LBS but I assume you are using a carry case.
