    busted today

Tried to ride to work today on 4-6" of rutted ice but just could not do it, had to turn around and telecommute today.

You're a braver man than I'll ever be. I wouldn't even look at my bike if there was ice on the ground. I'm the king of cold-weather wimps.

I just had frosty roads yesterday. I did my ride up and over hills, going pretty much normal speeds for night riding. I got my dry shirt on and started walking my bike over the parking lot in Dallas to catch my bus and about fell on my rear, it was so slick. I don't have studded tires, I was just lucky. Probably the roads weren't too bad.

I tried last week. I was snowed in, and not satisfied with how far I could reasonably make it on foot. With no skis, I took the rain bike out, and made it about 50 yards before I decided the adventure had "bad idea" written all over it.
