yep, Friday is the day to go. Went to Austin last year and on Friday the crowds were light and it was easier to talk with the exhibitors. On Saturday and Sunday there was a crush of people and it was access to the exhibitors took more time.
Where in Sacramento? It was not mentioned in the web-site. (Or my eyes are just crossed.)

About Sacramento
The venue for this fabulous three-day show, March 2-4, 2012, is the Sacramento Convention Center, in the heart of downtown Sacramento.
The convention center is close to fine restaurants, hotels, museums, and the State Capitol. Sacramento is “small town friendly with big city amenities” and with a population of 1.5 million in the metropolitan area, it is Northern California’s fastest growing, most affordable, and attractive city.
seeing this is close and I have friends who moved up to the area This is a possibility bike show/friend visit. There is danger in that at least one bike that Kirk frameworks will be showing is exactly like I would spec if I had the cash.

I'll be there. I'm finishing up the 3rd and last bike that I will bring tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it.

I'll be there with two great friends. Looking forward to visiting Dave as well as Kent in the Eriksen booth!
I'll be there on Saturday for the day. I've been to five so far (San Jose twice, Portland, Richmond, and Austin) and always have a great time.

Austin was great and I expect Sac to be equally great (and closer to home.)
Has anyone filled out the volunteer application to work the show?
Have not heard squat in response, yet.
Something I said? Or does "loosely organized" apply in this case?

I plan to be there, and I believe bigbossman and MarkoPolo have it in their radar, too. Don't be surprised if LanceOldstrong, Midland, cccorlew, MyLi'lPony, gpelpel and some others come out, too.
I started a thread in C&V trying to organize a ride for the assembled out-of-town BF multitudes. To say the response has been underwhelming would be an understatement; you'd think the Show was in the wilds of Borneo or something. Doesn't mean we can't do one anyway, of course . . . .

I'll be there all three days. I should be volunteering for 2 of them. 3alarmer, if you are local, go to Edible Pedal and ask for Brad. He is heading up the volunteering.
There will be some great rides and after parties. Steve Rex is celebrating his 25th year as a framebuilder and having a party at Mulvany's (sp?) sat night and there is a party in the alley at Edible Pedal Sat night. For info on these stop by the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates booth on the way into the show.
PM me if you have any other questions as I don't get in here too much.

I'm not one for fawning over bicycles, but I do believe that our bikes communicate with us, and what this bike is saying is, "You're an idiot." BikeSnobNYC
For those of you planning on attending Saturday, I am finishing up a
wheel building class (Saturday seminars format) at the Sacramento Bicycle
Kitchen on that Saturday. The location, at 19th and I streets, is about
6 or 7 blocks from the Convention Center location of the show.

Since I have the spare keys to the shop and permission from the people
who actually matter, I will be present at 9:30 AM (and for some time
afterwards, because I work the noon to 4PM shift on Saturdays) with
a cooler of beer in the back of my car, and an interest in meeting those
who choose to show up.
If you want to ride over tho the American River Bike Trail, there's a spur
nearby that goes up past the Blue Diamond plant for access.
Again, you are welcome to visit anytime we are open, but if you want to
drink, it needs to be prior to when I start the class.
There is quite a bit of parking in the alley where we are located, and
it is usually pretty empty on Saturdays. No RSVP needed, if no one
shows, I'll eventually drink it all myself.![]()

Hey 3alarmer, I'm sorry that I'm missing your wheel building class. I was on the email list you sent out but that time slot is really tough for me. We should meet up at the show. I know I'll be working the SABA booth for a while on one of the weekend days.

i'll be there.
I'm registered and looking forward to this event. I work in the Sacto area so I'll be there on Friday.
I'll be there on Friday for sure! Planning to be at the doors at 11am when they open. I've a list of vendors to visit. This will be even more fun since I'm looking for a frameset for a new bike!

Some sort of pithy irrelevant one-liner should go here.
Does anyone know if there are objections to slr photography? I'd like to take some pix for friends that can't make it...
My thought had been to take the out-of-towners up the American River Trail, one because I have still never been on it and two because it seems like most of the rest of the country does not believe in hills. As I said, though, the response has been pretty much non-existent.
At this point, nothing is in the works from my end other than I know I will be there at least one day and probably two and that I may or may not have my bike along.

I think at least one builder I know of is bringing along a couple bikes for demo rides, so even if you don't bring your bike, you might find one available
