25.8 Handlebar In a 25.4, Four Bolt Open Face Stem?

I really wanted to get the Eighth inch track drops but my stem is 25.4mm and the bars are 25.8 mm.
I've googled it but I got some mixed answers.

I have a 4 bolt open face stem, can I safely fit 25.8 mm handlebars in it?

Or is there anywhere I can get a 25.8 size stem for cheap? The only ones seem to be Ritchey stems for like $60+

I believe the fact that they list the bars as 25.8/26.0 is indicative that the bars are really effectively just 26.0's. Find other bars, or use google shopping man. It's pretty easy to find good deals if you just search.

If you want shallow track drops for cheap you can now get the charge racer drops which are little shallower than the 1/8th inch ones but they come in 25.4. citygrounds was the only place i saw that had them in stock though

I've used Kalloy's bars they felt great Ben's has them in stock

it'll bend the stem. May cause it to break, which will lead to the loss of teeth.

It might work.... And it might result in catastrophic failure at the worst possible time. I wouldn't bet my life on a janky, ghetto, bar/stem setup.

Even if the bars are truly 25.8mm, the difference is insignificant and you won't be prying the stem clamp apart.
