This is a good link for rides in the North Texas Area.

That ride around the bay looks like fun. I've never done a two day event but that one looks great.

If you are in the Ft Worth area, the Moritz Ride for Heros is one of the best organized local events I've done so far. Tons of volunteers, police and fire blocking all the traffic, well stocked rest stops (often with home made cookies and stuff baked by local volunteers). The whole community comes out for this.

I did Conquer the Coast for the first time last year.....but everything is the first time for me since I just passed my one year anniversary for biking. Here is the link, they had about 1,500 riders last year. Well organized, a few nice causeways to ride over and you get to take the ferry ride to Port Aransas.

Cycling is an addiction that is worth having; let's go!!
I'm leaving Lexington KY Friday evening, driving to vacation in Galveston (visiting the in-laws). Just today decided to investigate the riding there and stumbled upon this ride. Man, I wish I could leave earlier. It's an 18 hour drive to Galveston from here. I won't get there until Saturday. Darn! Looks like a great event.
