3rd trip 007.jpgWe went for a ride today, not very long but I'm just trying to build my confidence with my bike and hauling jack at the same time. Anyway this worked out very well and was really well attached, after the ride it remained UN-movable on the rack.

no he wouldn't know either way, as long as he is safe I don't care, but its not perfect so Im still shopping. I want something he can have neck support in and move his legs a bit, he's very squished in there lol. I want him to be able to sleep in the seat if he needs to, otherwise it limits my cycle times too much.Originally Posted by hopperja

Do you have access to more milk crates for experimentation? if so, a couple of ideas:
Rotate the crate 45 degrees. Then you could cutout two holes for Jack's legs on either side of the 'corner'. I don't know if there would be enough room for him in that configuration, and the harness thing would take some imaginative thinking to sort out.
If that did work, you could take a second crate, and cut off all but two sides, leaving a V shape. You could then stack this bit on top of the other crate, making a headrest for the little guy.
I'm just thinking out loud here, with no milk crate for size reference so this could very well be unworkable.
He fits in the crate ok, except for when I add padding which he still needs. At an angle there isn't enough room for him, I thought of that too, but by the time I'd given him a back rest it just gets awkward and complicated with the "V" shape behind him. For an older child who didn't need the 5 point belt it might be easier as the seatbelt sets his legs at an angle which doesn't work well with the opening, an older child would also gain a few inches of room with less foam cushioning. It's also awkward to get him in and out of as his legs get caught up it it, if I was a tad taller this wouldn't be as hard, but for me I'm lifting him high and he's a little lump at 34lb or so. I've seen some slightly oversized crates before which are more rectangular shaped- that's what I need!
