    Rider down on SART,

My Girlfriend and myself were flagged down by a couple of riders. They were asking for a doctor or paramedic. A rider had suffered a heart attack and crashed over the guard rail and into the bushes. They had started CPR on him and called 911. The responce time was very poor. This occured south of Adams and the fire dept had trouble figuring out how to get a unit close. The victim did start breathing for a short while, but lapsed back into full cardiac arrest. After the paramedics arrived they managed to get a pickup truck to the victim and take him away. It was not clear if they had any luck bringing him back. I was impressed by the number of riders who stopped and helped. CPR never stopped until he was taken away. I pray and hope the best for this rider and his family.

Ya that's pretty much what I saw and posted in another thread. It didn't look good.

My heart goes out to this man and any loved ones. I hope they were able to save him. I wanted to post because I am truly amazed at how cyclists care for one another. When I heard about a fatal accident months ago, it brought me some small bit of peace to know that the rider had cyclists by his side performing CPR. Some of you are truly amazing people.

Someone that I ride with knows two riders who were on the scene. Apparently the rider who went down didn't make it.
