    2012 Amgen route details announced

Our beloved GMR, the Baldy ski lifts, Big Bear Lake. Going to be a great tour. The Big Bear stage starts about a mile from my house. Might take in three stages this year, (ITT in Bakersfield, Palmdale to Big Bear, and Ontario to the ski lifts).

The Baldy stage is bascailly the same route as last year with the exception of the starting point. I will be at the frist KOM and finish again as it was amazing last year! I will try to make the KOM before Mt High as well the stage before (or the one after Silverwood Lake).

Stage 1 is much of Levi's Gran Fondo - skipping King Ridge. Hope they suffer at least a fraction of what I did on Coleman Valley Rd last year.
Stage 2 in Aptos, I'm guessing ending at Cabrillo College. A mile from my sis's house. To bad it's in the workweek.
Stage 3 tough climb out of the gate and Mt Diablo for the first time.
Stage 4 lots of climbing, always up or down, bombing into the finish I think.
Stage 5 TT in Bako. Mostly flat along the river, but the climb at the end will probably hurt a bit.
Stage 6 is very similar to before. Lots of climbing, but not a real climbing finish - that's left to Baldy.
Stage 7 should make for some great entertainment like last year. Hopefully, this year I'll be there.
Stage 8 looks pretty short. Should be entertaining like the downtown time trial of two years ago. Many chances to see the riders. Looks like I'll try to take the train up to see that one with my bike.
