Greetings from Norcal: LA Single Track?

I'm coming down to LA at the end of next month to visit my sister and would like to bring a bike to get around and have fun with while her and her husband are at work. It'll be my SSCX bike since it's versatile and fun to ride.

I was wondering if any of you could recommend some light to medium single track in the area. Nothing too wild, just some trails to keep me busy for a few hours during the day that a rigid fork and 700X32 tires can handle.

Sorry, forgot to mention. I'll be staying right off Hollywood BLVD just a few blocks from Amoeba (those are the only landmarks I know). I'll have my car with me, but I'd rather not travel too far, so closer is better.

Sorry, I can't help you with that part of LA.

You can also try posting on MTBR, the So Cal section, and on socaltrailriders.org. You might get some ride ideas.

A bit of a drive but there is a network of fireroads and some singletrack at the South end of Reseda blvd.
You could also go to the Pasadena area and climb in the hills around there.

From Hollywood cut through Griffith Park through lower Burbank/Glendale over to the Verdugo Foothills. Or short drive up the 2 to Angeles Crest. Or short drive west to the Santa Monica Mtns. If you ride up through Griffith Park on the ridge you can see all the easily accessible fire roads locally.
