    Hello from San Jose, California

I am new to Cali... lived mostly in the Midwest & New England before this... up until two weeks ago I was only a recreational rider, but now I commute full time...

total of 6 1/2 miles a day .. mixing in the Light Rail ... I ride from almost Milpitas near Peidmont to West Sunnyvale for work & the traffic on 237 helped my choice to go carless to work

Welcome to the town. I relocated here from Maine 2 years ago, and commute full time. I live downtown San Jose, and work near Sunnyvale/Santa Clara.

I'm new too! I moved to SJ in August. I still haven't found a full-time job, but I bike commute. I live in downtown also. What's up with everyone riding on the sidewalks?

Yeah, and none of those riders signal. I'm just waiting for one to hook a handlebar in my purse strap so I can have a reason to punch someone. Ok, too aggro...

I can't stand it because I feel I'm in the minority of cyclists actually following the rules, and it makes me feel awkward when I'm riding with traffic down 2nd street and there are 15 other bikes racing across the xwalks.

I think it's a combination or ignorance of the law, and fear of motorists hitting them
