September 22, 2012 - RTC Viva Bike Vegas Gran Fondo. I have been cycling this event since 2009 and it's getting better every year. This year, a course change and both the 72 and 118 routes will go over Hoover Dam (as they did in 2010). No Red Rock loop this year. The $75 entry fee is a bargain.
No Red Rock loop this year, that section is a decent climbing challenge but i will enjoy this ride without the loop. Last year 2011 had a chain come apart 3 times on the loop, managed to finish 30 minutes behind my friends, after a long day peddling with a short chain. Weather was great, and the early morning start was fun on the Strip...
