Invite to my upcoming birthday ride

I'm taking off work next Tuesday, April 3rd and planning on riding 51 miles to celebrate my 51st. Would love to have some company, if anyone nearby would like to join me. I've mapped out a route a little south of Weatherford (just west of Ft. Worth). Expecting to do a modest pace averaging 12-13 mph.

And while you're riding you can say to yourself "I may be 51 but I'm not over the <stupid> hill yet". Over and over...

Have ridden a bit down in that area and am headed to Willow Park to ride the northern part of some Aledo RFH routes tomorrow.
The Railhead BBQ parking lot (Ranch House Rd just off IH-20) is a great place to start/finish, btw. Park at the back of the lot and refuel post-ride.

I plan on going over a few hills in my efforts to not be over the hill! I figured most people will be at work (taking a vacation day myself) , so if I end up with just a couple of folks joining me, that will be good. If not, I'll have a pleasant ride on my own to enjoy the birds and morning air.

Actually planning on starting from Vandagriff Elementary. I modified a route I found on the FWBA site, and that was the starting point it used. Seemed like a good spot and when I called them, they were fine with my parking the truck there for a few hours.

I just rode half of that route on Friday. It was a nice ride, altough the hills killed me. What time in the Morning are you planning to ride. I have to work in the afternoon. I might only be able to do part of it.

Was planning rolling about 0900, though we can change that to 0800, if needed. You're the only one sofar who has said they may join me. (It is a workday for most, after all.)

Did a hilly club ride in Springtown yesterday. Lots of uphills against the wind. It kicked my butt. I thought I was just having a bad day of it, but when I got to the finish, others were also saying the route kicked their butts. On the positive side, my butt is connected to my circulatory system and it did wonders for my blood pressure. Did Whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger, right?

Looks like almost a certainty of thunderstorms for tomorrow, so I will probably not be doing my planned ride. Well, I'm planning on doing the 55 for Easter Hill on Friday anyway.

I just saw the weather is going to be bad tomorrow. Just as well. I have a 5k on Saturday with my son. I should probably train for that anyway. Later..

Good Call Yo Spiff. I don't think we would have made it. By the way, Happy Birthday.
