    Winter Fitness Gains

Just trying to gauge my own progress here. For the first time ever this year I trained indoors on computrainer dealies with watts. I went from an initial 239w for 20mins to 264w for 20mins this winter.

    so +25w ( +10%)

What did everyone else do for the winter? Did you make progress?
Get fat? Did I do well? Average? Poorly?

Your results seem pretty close to mine. The last 5-6 months got me about a 10% gain. Strangely I keep getting huge gains in my 5sec wattage numbers even tho I never sprint. 960w->1310w in 12 months. Wish my FTP went up like that.

I lost 22+ lbs and gained considerable leg strength. Has been very rewarding and made a huge difference on the bike, especially mountain biking. I'm closing in on my target weight (a weight I haven't seen since college) and will post the full story in the Clydesdale forum.
    die trying

You'll win a lot more races if you can keep your 5S number going in that direction. Imagine what might happen if you start targeting your sprinting in training? I'm envious.
