I have been having some pain around my sit bone area on and off for a few months. I have finally been diagnosed with hamstring inflammation where it inserts into the sit bone. The cause is a leg length (functional) discrepancy.
I was first prescribed some stretches, but they ended up making matters a lot worse (too much too soon). Now I am on ICE and NSAIDs.
Has anyone here dealt with this? I am extremely disappointed that I am going to be missing several weeks (if not months) and my hope of training for a 200 mile ride in June is basically out the door.
Bike fit and especially spacers under your cleats to make your legs the same length, or at least a lot closer. Could also be a saddle issue. Maybe your saddle presses just there. Try a different saddle, too.
