45 years old, "love" training on my bike indoors, seeing reductions in my overall finish time (TT) and in the market for a new bike that I want to purchase by mid summer.
Lately, I am hearing a "snapping" sound coming from my right leg. When I apply pressure by hand to my thigh, the snapping sounf stops. Doesn't hurt. Just a weird sound. Doesn't happen all the time, either.
Spoke to a fitness intructor today. She mentioned my IT Band is going. Also mentioned I need to incorporate Pilates into my training.
Currently, I train 2X a day. About 40 minutes in the morning. And about 1 hour at nght. Structured work outs with rest day and simple recovery day during the week.
Like most of the members on this site, I enjoy cycling. It gives me a wonderful outlet and I enjoy the personal improvements in finish time and fitness base. While I won't break records, my finish times are being reduced and I love simply being on the bike.
Would like to know if anyone out there has had issues with their IT Bands. Also, Pilates? Is anyone doing Pilates?
I am being told than I need to "lay off" the cyling and spend time on core training.
