Mohonk Mtn House Cyclist Weekend, May 4-6 Looks Interesting

Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY is scheduling a cyclist weekend for May 4-6, 2012.
I remember the place as being pretty nice, so combining with group rides should make for a decent combo. Anybody else hear of it? Going? BTW, I found out about it through an ad that appeared ad on B.F.!

I'm tempted. I grew up in this area and spent many happy days tramping around that mountain and swimming in the water holes which were always ice cold even in mid summer. Even as a high school boy I found it odd there should be such an alpine environment just 85 miles from the City.

I'm a townie (I can see the Mt House from my own hovel). What events are planned for their weekend, maybe I'll poach?

[edit] looks like what is planned is lots of road rides. See you in the gunks!

As I remember, they have some serious cookies out on trays in the halls within the walls. Beautiful area up there!

Heh, I know the guy in the brochure, who will be leading the rides. He is one strong dude (former SOS triathlon winner). Plus the Mountain House is, you know, on top of a mountain, meaning you get a seriously uphill finish (like a hard category 2 climb). Probably they will shuttle riders down/up the hill for the ride, at least for the B/C rides.

It looks like a great event, and you can't beat the resort for a recovery setting! This is a spectacular area for biking in the hills.
