Keen makes some cool Spd sandals. Chrome just screams hipster to me too much.

The Keen Austin's are a great pair of SPD shoes, that are not sandals.

you want the hip skate look, and the Spud cleat? hers a bunch >>

mountain bike shoes are a common choice.. hit the bike shops and try stuff on.

Keen has another shoe looking model with the cleat pocket.

some touring shoes are less lugged sole looking . Shimano has some
I got a TO92 made by them years ago..
velcro closed so easy to take off and, say, put your feet in the cool water.

Mavic shows some touring shoes on the company website,
not sure about distributor source where you live.

Check out the Vittoria 1976 as they are extremely nice looking shoes. Look like a retro road road shoe but have a nice casual style sole for a SPD cleat. Usually go around $150. Pricey but very classy shoes.

If you can find some of these they might be what you are looking for.

I use these for mtn biking. Very comfortable- running shoes w/ cleats, & enough sole stiffness to work.

I guess I'm more of a vintage guy so the older and thing styled after vintage items trip my trigger. I'm not for the crazy colors they offer but love just the black versions. I tried road shoes and pedals but went back to spd's on all my bikes(road and mtb) and wear Shimano mtb shoes now. I've also been looking for a more casual looking shoe as most cycling shoes look like space shoes with buckles and velcro straps and whatnot.
