    Pedals?

I clip in on my road bike. I want pedals on my hybrid commuter for simplicity. I wear regular shorts and tennis shoes on my hybrid commuter. What is a really great pair of flat, good 'ol pedals?

    My pedals are Shimano PD-A530.

Best of both worlds; Platform on one side and cleats on the other.

Hey, those look just right too. I don't like the muddy colored things that came on the bike and I don't want to have to clip in when using my commuter. I don't want to deal with the shoes, the clothes or any of if. I just want to get on my bike and ride.

I too only use regular shorts and shoes (court shoes) on my hybrid. These have been the best I've used so far. So simple and you don't have to flip them round when you have them upside down etc. (there is no upside down)
I've never ripped my shins on them as they are sooooo grippy. (VP Bear-trap pedals....Old-school BMX)

For regular , normal pedals, it is hard to beat MKS. The Sylvian Touring is a double sided flat cage that wont damage nice shoes.

When it came time for me to choose new pedals, I went with MKS Touring Lites. They're available on Ebay for as low as $37.50 shipped - the seller offering that price is the one I purchased from, with no problem.

I like these too. How much do they weigh? What are they called and how do I find them?

VP Bear Traps, per the post. They're 400g, somewhat porky - 20g more than the MKS Sylan Roads linked above, and 80g heavier than my Touring Lites. Sure look like a secure hold for soft shoes, though, and they're very cheap.

Yes they are both heavy and cheap but very strong. If weight is a point, maybe these aren`t an option. I loved the shape and grip, which was a major selling point for my choice.

Yeah, in truth, had I known they existed I might have rethought my own choice of pedals. They look bulletproof, and I like the wraparound cleats.

I've been very happy with Performance Bikes Forte platform pedal, not expensive and my feet never have slipped off.

Another vote for the Performance Forte ATB Comp Pedals. Around $20 when on sale. Have also used these on my 29'r as they are fairly compact and provide a bit more maneuvering room when in tight spots.

I've been in escrow since last year. I've had all of it I can take. I apologize if I sounded rude.

I bought a pair just like that because I accumulate alot of grease in my shoes. They work great for the grip, but ate through my tough shoes in no time.

I just put a pair of these on an old cruiser bike that I keep around for the occasional weekend trip. Pr1mo Super Tenderizers.
