    My preferred bicycle brand is.......WORKSMAN CYCLES
    I dislike clipless pedals on any city bike since I feel they are unsafe.

    Seems fair. Even if you use MTB clipless pedals the cyclocross or similar road-style shoes have very stiff soles and provide a good deal of comfort over long distance. I use SPDs and I've never had a problem with them; you need to have the tension adjusted according to your riding style.
